Tangy Tomato Slices Jennffer Eveland-Kupp, Temple, PA Is there anything more scrumptious than a ripe tomato? 6 tomatoes, thinly sliced 1 onion, thinly sliced 1 c. oil 1/3 c. vinegar 1/4 c. fresh parsley, chopped 3 T. fresh basil, chopped 1 T. sugar 1 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper 1/2 t. dry mustard 1/2 t. garlic powder Layer tomato and onion slices in a 13"x9" baking dish; set aside. Combine oil, vinegar and seasonings in a small bowl; mix well and pour over tomatoes. Cover and chill 4 to 5 hours. Serves 6 to 8.
