Apple Slices 1 C lard 1/2 C boiling water 3 C flour 1 t salt 1 t baking powder and some sliced apples and some confectioners sugar Pour boiling water over lard. Beat until creamy. Add flour, salt, and baking powder. Put in refrigerator, about 30 minutes, not over 1 hour. Roll out very thin to fit pan about the size of a jelly roll pan. Fill with sliced apples and season as in pie. Cover with rest of dough. (from where ????) Bake 20 minutes at 425 F, then at 350 F for about 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven and cover with a mixture of confectioners sugar and water while still hot.
